Other Information:Richard was educated at Clongowes Wood College and at St Bartholomews - entering in 1901, he obtained the diplomas of M.R.C.S. (Eng.) and L.R.C.P. (Lond.) in 1905. He joined the Medical Services at the rank of Lieutenant on 28th January 1907, then served in India from 1909 - 1914, during which time, he was promoted to Captain on 28th July 1910. Richard was stationed at Sheffield when war broke out, he disembarked for France on 11th September 1914. He was the son of the late F W O'Connor, F.R.C.S.I., of Limerick; and the husband of Philippa Durane O'Connor.
