Other Information:In 1911 William was a labourer and living at No 39 Tab Street, Bank, Leeds, West Yorkshire. He entered the war in France on 20th August 1914 with the 6th Field Ambulance. He drowned whilst serving on H.M.H.S. "Salta" after the ship struck a mine and sank half a mile north of the Whistle Bouy, Havre on 10th April 1917. He was the brother of Pte James Hingerton, R.A.M.C. [Information kindly provided by William's family]
