Other Information:William attested on 11th December 1915, he 32 years old, a unemployed miner and living at 67 Front Street, St Helens, Auckland at the time. He was mobilized on 18th July 1917 and joined the R.A.M.C. the next day. He was posted to 'S' Coy on 20th the same month. On 25th February 1918 he embarked on H.M.H.S. 'Glenart Castle' and was reported missing, believed drowned on 26th when the hospital ship was torpedoed. His death was accepted by the War Office on lapse of time. William was the son of William and Elizabeth Richmond of 59 Eastvilla Terrace, Harrogate.
