Thomas entered the war in France on 30th May 1915. He served with No 12 Casualty Clearing Station. He was drowned when the Hospital Ship “Anglia”, he was serving on, struck a mine and sunk one mile east of Folkestone gate. He was the son of Mrs Elizabeth Heaton of 64 Hopwood Street, Accrington, Lancs.
