Other Information:William was a qualified doctor of the Medical Officer Reserve Corps, U.S.A., who volunteered to serve with the British Army during the Great War. In March 1918 he was stationed at Camp George G Meade in Maryland, when he was instructed to report to the Army Medical School, Washington D.C. He entered the war in France on 7th May 1918. On 11th October 1918 he was standing in as the Medical Officer for Capt Lorraine R.A.M.C. with the 58th Bde, R.F.A. when Capt Lorraine returned from leave. He then joined the 33rd Field Ambulance. On 30th March 1919 he transferred out of the 11th Division to report for duty with No 15 Casualty Clearing Station.
