Other Information:Eric was educated at Felstead School; at Selwyn College, Cambridge; and at St Bartholomew's Hospital - entering as a student in 1900, he obtained the diplomas M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P in 1903; the D.P.H. in 1905; and graduated M.B., B.C. in 1904. He became senior resident medical officer to the North-West London Hospital, and house-physician to St Peter's Hospital for Stone. He then went into practice at Romford, and was the medical officer to the Horn-church Cottage Home. Eric entered the war in France in September 1914 as a serjeant in the London Scottish Regiment, and was present at their first action near Messines, becoming Surgeon to the Battalion on the death of their medical officer who was killed in action. Shortly after he was invalided home, but recovered and was given a commission in the R.A.M.C. at the rank of temporary Lieutenant. He was sent to Alexandria to serve in No 15 General Hospital, where he died from septic poisoning contracted while operating on a septic case. He was the only son of Alfred Wright M.R.C.S., L.S.A, of Romford, Essex; and the husband of Lilian Mary Wright.
