Other Information:Ibar received his medical training at St George's Hospital, qualifying M.C.R.S., L.R.C.P. in 1887. He took up a commission in the Medical Services on 28th July 1891 at the rank of Surgeon Captain, then served in Sudan in 1898. On 28th July 1903 he was promoted to the rank of Major, then the following year, 1904, served in East Africa. When war was declared, Ibar went to Woolwich, where he formed No 3 Base Depot of Medical Stores. becoming the unit’s commanding officer. The unit mobilized on 15th August 1914, then sailed from Southampton to Rouen on the 21st. Arriving the following day Ibar entered war in France on 22nd August 1914.
