Other Information:John enlisted on 17th May 1916 into the Royal Garrison Artillery (Service no 83110), but later transferred into the R.A.M.C. He joined for duty on 22nd May 1916 at Sheerness. He was 28 years old; was a Dentist by trade, and was living at 647 London Road Westcliffe, Essex at the time. He entered the war in France on 31st August 1916. On 9th June 1917 he suffered an injury to his right shoulder in an accident when in action. On 7th November 1918 he was serving with No 5 Ambulance Flotilla when he reported to A.I.D. Rouen for duty in dental clinic. He served in France until 10 January 1919 when he returned to the UK. He was transferred to Class Z Army reserve on 8th February 1919.
