George enlisted into the Ox & Bucks Light Infantry, service number 4662. He transferred into the R.A.M.C. but transferred again to the Royal Welch Fusiliers, service number 77005. The transfers are explained by his succumbing to trench foot (and later recurrence) on the Somme in 1916. [Information kindly provided by Ken Wayman (George's Grandson)]
