John enlisted into the R.A.M.C., then entered the war in France on 29th March 1915. He later transferred to become a gunner, service number 91942, in the "A" Bty. 58th Bde, Royal Field Artillery. John was killed in action. He was the son of Joe Allatt Barber and Margaret Alice Barber, of 13, Heywood, Great Harwood, Blackburn. [Information kindly provided by David26, via GWF]
