Other Information:Thomas was educated at Old Scholar Friends’ School, Lisburn (Kindly provided by Pat Geary), and at Belfast University, where he graduated M.B., B.Ch. and B.A.O. in 1917. He became a Queen's Rugby left three-quarter. After qualifying he took a temporary commission as lieutenant in the R.A.M.C. He entered the war in East Africa on 9th October 1917.
