Other Information:

Henry enlisted on 10th August 1914. He was 32 years and 10 months old, was a Caterer by trade, and was living in Midlothian at the time. On 2nd September 1915 he was appointed acting sergeant. He appears two days later (4th September 1915) in the war diary of the 17th Casualty Clearing Station as having been charged with using obscene language to his comrades and was severely reprimanded. On 11th December 1915 he was admitted to hospital, then evacuated to Base on the 15th. [No further mention of him in the diary]. On 30th July 1917 he was appointed acting Corporal, which reverted back to the rank of Private on 18th September 1918. He was transferred to Class Z Army Reserve on demobilization. He was the husband of Jennie Campbell (nee Hardie) of Mayfair, London.
