Other Information:William enlisted on 16th May 1915. He was 46 years and 5 months old and a butcher by trade. He served in the RAMC as an orderly at the 3rd Southern General Hospital. On 20th October 1918 he was sent off duty with symptoms of influenza and was authorized to remain at his house on Hurst Street owing to pressure on hospital beds due to the influenza epidemic. He progressed satisfactorily until 30th October when pneumonia developed and he became too ill to move to hospital. He died at home. William was the son of William and Caroline Reeves and the husband of Alice Louisa Reeves, They had two sons, George and Frank and lived at 80 Hurst Street, Oxford.
