Stanley enlisted on 14th October 1915. He was 24 years and 7 months old, a meat salesman by trade, and was living at 30 Brook Street, Birkenhead at the time. He embarked at Southampton on 10th February 1917, then disembarking at Havre the next day he entered the war in France on 11th February 1917. Stanley was the son of John Wynn, a Baptist Minister, and his late wife Sarah of the same address as above.
