David G Martin enlisted into the RAMC, Territorial Force, on the 6th April 1908. On the 6th November 1915 he first entered the Theatre of War in France and Flanders. During May 1917 David was promoted to Temp Sergeant Major for the duration of the war, he was then commissioned as a Lieutenant Quartermaster on the 14th November 1918. Amongst the gallantry awards David received, he was also awarded the Territorial Force Efficiency Medal on the 1st August 1918. [Special thanks to Michael W Cook]
