Other Information:

Oscar received his medical education at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, entering as a student in 1908. He obtained the diplomas M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. in 1913. After qualifying he went into practice in H.M. Dockyard at Pembroke Dock. He obtained a commission as Lieutenant in the R.A.M.C. and was attached as medical officer to the Royal Field Artillery. He entered the war in France on 12th May 1915. Oscar was the son of Edmund John, C.B.E., M.V.O. and Jane Maginess of Craneswater Avenue, Southsea, Hants.
