Robert had previously served in the South African Campaign. He lived in Kentish Town. He was on board the Hired Transport "Transylvania", when it was proceeding to Egypt with reinforcements, and was sunk by a torpedo by the German U-boat U-63 off Cape Vado, a few kilometres south of Savona. Served in the South African Campaign. Son of Robert Cruickshank Philip of 49 Albert St., Aberdeen. Husband of Agnes E Philip of "Langholme" Brinkley Rd., Worcester Park, Surrey. He was the son of Robert Cruickshank Philip, of 49 Albert Street, Aberdeen; and the husband of Agnes E Philip, of "Langholme" Brinkley Road, Worcester Park, Surrey.
