Edward entered the war onboard a hospital ship on 4th May 1915. He was drowned when the Hospital Ship "Anglia", he was serving on, struck a mine and sunk one mile east of Folkestone gate. (Portrait photograph, before merged, courtesy of Michael Reynolds)
