Other Information:Charles was embodied in the R.A.M.C. (T.F.) - 2nd Highland Divisional Field Ambulance on 13th November 1911. He was 17 years and 1 month old, a labourer by trade, and was living at 7 Canal Terrace at the time. He embarked at Southampton on 30th April 1915, disembarking at Havre the next day he entered the war in France on 1st May. Charles was admitted into the 1/3rd Highland Field Ambulance on 1st April 1917, suffering with a dislocated shoulder, then discharged back to his unit on the 7th. He was killed, along with 303238 Pte Harry Cameron Badenoch, 303351 Pte William Davidson Milne and 303342 Pte David Oliphant when a shell landed on The Willows Collecting Post in front of Essex Farm. Charles was the son of Margaret Milne and the late Alexander Milne of 30 Nether Kirkgate, Aberdeen.
