Other Information:

Allen entered the war in France on 18th August 1914. He was promoted to the rank of Staff Serjeant on 19th November 1917. On 22nd July 1918 he proceeded for one months attachment to the 10th Bn. Gloucestershire Regiment. He proceeded to England on 28th September 1918 as a candidate for a temporary commission into the infantry.
