Other Information:

George enlisted on 4th October 1915. He was 38 years and 47 days old; was living at 19 Eastbury Road, Kingston-on-Thames; and was a decorator by trade. He embarked at Southampton on 31st December 1915 as part of a group of reinforcements. He disembarked at Rouen the next day, entering the war in France on 1st January 1916. He was posted to serve with the 2nd Field Ambulance, in the field, on the 5th January. On 16th September 1916 he was attached to the R.M.O., 2nd Welsh Regiment. After taking some leave in July 1917 he rejoined the 2nd Field Ambulance. On 19th April 1918 he received fatal wounds and died at No 23 Casualty Clearing Station. George was the husband of Ethel Triggs of 25 Richmond Park Road, Kingston-on-Thames. (CWGC has George recorded as dying on 19th April 1916).
