Other Information:Charles enlisted on 17th February 1915. He was 23 years and 297 days old; was a Coach Smith by trade; and was living at Pear Tree Cottage, High Street, Darlaston at the time. He joined at Darlaston, then on 6th May 1915 was posted to serve with the 90th Field Ambulance. On 11th August 1915, he entered the war in France with the 141st Field Ambulance. On 30th October 1916 he was evacuated �sick� to the Line of Communication. From 16th November 1916 to 18th April 1917 he was stationed in the UK. On 4th June 1918 he transferred to the 11th Bn. Worcester Regiment, then later transferred again to the 81st Machine Gun Corps. After the war he re-enlisted, on 30th April 1924, to serve with the 5th Bn. South Staffordshire Regiment. He was the husband of Betsy Jane Rymill, nee Gettings.
