Other Information:Frederick enlisted on 1st May 1915. He was 34 years and 240 days old; was a cook by trade; and was living at 40 Laundry Road, Fulham at the time. He was posted to serve with the 90th Field Ambulance but shortly after transferred to the 141st Field Ambulance. On 4th August 1915 he was appointed the rank of acting Corporal. On 10th August 1915 he embarked at Southampton, then disembarking in Rouen the next day, he entered the war in France on 11th August 1915. Between 5th April and 4th May 1916 he was attached to the 1st Division School of Cookery. On 29th December 1916 he was transferred to the 25th Bde Royal Field Artillery for water duties, and on this day reverted back to his permanent rank of Private. On 13th March 1918 he transferred to serve with the 104th Field Ambulance. Shortly after, on 12th April 1918, he was admitted into his unit, then evacuated back to No 16 General Hospital, arriving there on the 16th April. On 6th May 1918 he was evacuated back to England. He was discharged "no longer physically fit for war service" due to illness on 6th September 1918. He was the husband of Hanna May Mackie of Fulham, London.
