Arthur was serving with the 141st Field Ambulance on 26th May 1917 when he was admitted 'sick' to hospital and evacuated to the Line of Communication. He rejoined the unit from a casualty clearing station on 1st June 1917. He was admitted again 'sick' into the hospital of his unit on 10th june 1917, and evacuated to the Line of Communication. He later served with the Labour Corps under the service number 521132.
