Other Information:Cecil trained in medicine at University College, Cardiff and Westminster Hospital, graduating in 1912 with the degrees of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (with Honours in Medicine) of the University of London. He was also awarded the Licentiate of the Royal College of Physicians of London. On the 25th July 1912, Cecil was admitted as a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and on the 16th August was registered as a Medical Practitioner in England. He held positions of House Surgeon, Westminster Hospital, and Senior House Surgeon, Taunton and Somerset Hospital. On the 17th September 1914, Dr Cecil Jones was commissioned temporary Lieutenant in the RAMC, he was promoted to t/Captain on the 17th September 1915. He was appointed Officer Commanding, Surgical Division and was released from the army, circa 1919. After the war, Dr Jones returned to the study of surgery at St. Bartholomew's Hospital, London. He was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, 9 June 1921 and appointed Chairman, Medical Board, Ministry of Pensions. He moved to London, to live at No. 96, Lower Addiscombe Road in Croydon, and later at "Danygraig" - No. 134, Addiscombe Road, Croydon. From there he practised medicine as a partner in the medical practice, Thompson, Jones and Patrick of Croydon and served as Senior Medical Officer (Emergency Medical Services) and Surgeon, Croydon General Hospital. In addition, Dr Jones served as Surgeon at the Fracture Clinic in Croydon, as Medical Officer to the Shirley Schools in Croydon and as a medical examiner for the London Life and other assurance companies. He was a member of the British Medical Association, and the Croydon Medical Society. He died at his home, 134 Addiscombe Road in Croydon on 9 January 1955.
