Frederick entered the war in Franc on 18th August 1914 No 4 Casualty Clearing Station. On 25th February 1918 he embarked on H.M.H.S. 'Glenart Castle' as part of the staff and was reported missing, believed drowned on 26th after the hospital ship was torpedoed.
