Other Information:George applied to join the police service on the 28th October 1910. His occupation was a carter employed by Charles Archbold, 1 Church Street, Craster. George was a single man, who was 5 ft 11 inches tall. He lived at 1 Coastguard Station, Craster, Northumberland and married whilst a serving officer [details not recorded]. George was appointed by Gateshead County Constabulary on 11th December 1910 and sworn in on 2nd June 1911. By this time he was living at 25 Kitchener Street, Gateshead. On the 1st May 1915, George resigned to join HMF and enlisted into the RAMC. He re-joined the police force on 26th February 1919, living at 156 Westbourne Avenue, Gateshead. George was awarded a medallion and two labels in Januray 1920 for his service in the RAMC, and in 1935 he received the Jubilee Medal. George retired from the police force on the 7th January 1941.
