A letter sent from A T Milne to his brother Charles - dated 7th December 1915.
Dear Charles
I arrived here all right at 9.30 yesterday morning, but I was 18 hours late, of course, it wasn't my fault, it was ??ing to boat and train arrangements being altered. I was never so well pleased before to see my billet I was so disgusted at the journey. We had an awful stormy passage across the channel. We were all dead sick and we were soaked to the skin the water was running downstairs + everywhere. I would't have cared if the boat had gone down I was so bad. But I am all right now and in the pink. Hoping you are all well yourselves at home.
I remain
your loving brother Adam xxxx
