"Robert" Carl Cuckow was residing at Upper Street Leeds near Maidstone and occupation was a butler. He enlisted with the 1st Home Counties FA TA on the 20th January 1915. He declared his age to be 19. He disembarked from Southampton to France on the 23rd January 1917 and arrived at Le Havre France on the 24th January 1917 and served as a stretcher bearer with the 2/1st Home Counties FA. It appears he was stationed at the Cyclists depot in Rouen. However he was one of the few to be discharged from service on the 23rd January 1918 on the frounds of him being under age. His actual DOB was 25th October 1900 so he was only 14 when he signed up! He survived the war and lived at Wheeler Street Maidstone as a general labourer.
