His wife Jennie never remarried and stayed at 5 Canton Place until 1988 when she went into sheltered accommodation. The house was never changed from the day Harry went to war, with gas lighting, no electricity or any modification right to the day she had to leave, very reluctantly.
Harry's photo in uniform stood on the sideboard for the best part of 70 years and was kept impeccably clean. Jeanie rests with their only child, Ernest Chesterson, my father as well as my beloved Mother Dorothy in the cemetery at Hartford. Harry is also remembered there on the Cenotaph but his surname is recorded as ChesterTon not son which was always a cause of sadness to his wife, Jeannie.
Jeanie was a strong patron of her Church and believed that love and marriage was eternal and always said that one day she would be with her one true love again, her beloved Husband Harry Chesterson.
As she said whom God have joined together, let no man put asunder.....May God bless them
