He was discharged from the RAMC on 12 Aug 1919 having received wounds, as a result of which he was unable to work and was repeatedly hospitalised up until his death on 12 Aug 1932 (age 42) at Queen Mary's Hospital, Putney. He is buried at West Norwood Cemetery.
